We have been ordering from Monty’s Larder for several months now and could not be more pleased with the food we have received for our miniature dachshund. The quality is outstanding and our dog, with a sensitive stomach, could not be happier and healthier with this food. He really loves it and has flourished on it compared to other foods we have tried. We would not hesitate to recommend.

I have fed an 80/20 food and did well on it, but then the price went up alot so looked around.

My dog has a lot of allergies some food needed to be right. ABSOLUTE fits the bill, my bitch looks great and as fit as anything.

I think it's a good food and well worth a try.

Cheers

Then why are so many dogs thriving on it??? We’ve spent hundreds of pounds on expensive brands and even went raw. My poor dog has had terrible stomach issues. Started on Chappie 6 months ago and she is a new dog! Firm stools, no smelly wind and she has more energy than ever

Our pup was on pure for a few months - the salmon recipe only due to her allergies. Despite her skin improving a little to start with, we notice she started to look a little skinnier. We upped her food by 20% and contacted pure. A nutritionist advised that the calculated amount was enough for her needs. We didn’t listen and continued to feed an increased amount but she still continued to lose weight which she had never done on a food prior. I cancelled today after speaking with our vet as our girl has gone from over 24kg to 21.4kg. We are transitioning her back to kibble and going to try and bring her weight back up. I’ve seen a few other reviews mentioning weight loss in their pups so just a pointer for anyone considering pure to be mindful that your pup may need more/less than their nutritionists prescribe!

Great question! Our Fish 80:20 recipe uses whole blue whiting, which is a novel protein and naturally rich in omega-3s, which help reduce inflammation. It’s also moderate in fat (14%), highly digestible, and free from grains, legumes, and artificial additives.

That said, every dog is different, so we recommend checking with your vet first. If you do try WILD, a slow transition (4 weeks or more) is key.

While both our products and DARF are cold-pressed, there are key differences in formulation, sourcing, and nutritional balance.

RawFeederXL has already highlighted how fresh meat affects the final product, which will contribute to their lower price point. While DARF includes fresh meats, offal, dried fruits, millet, and krill, we focus on high-quality, UK sourced meat with no grains, peas, or legumes - just completely natural nutrition. Plus, all of our recipes are 100% sourced and made in the UK, supporting local suppliers and ensuring the highest standards of production.

Another key factor is feeding amounts - our food is very nutrient-dense, meaning you often need to feed less compared to other brands. While the upfront cost may be higher, this can make our recipes more cost-effective in the long run.

If you'd like more details, we're always happy to chat!
