That’s just not true.

When my dog suddenly started having issues with his glands at 3y/o, I was told to try their hypoallergenic food.

My dog is raw fed. So if I were going to look for a food allergy, I would just drop to one protein. I wouldn’t try a food with 50 random ingredients, leaving me unable to narrow down the cause.

Vets recommend this food if your dog got random contact dermatitis or an ear infection. The food filling their offices are their go-to solutions.

Has the moisture % been missed out on this?

As looking at other pooch and mutt kibbles they have 10% moisture in them. But reading on this kibble it has nothing listed, has it been missed out?

Hi Christine - does your dog enjoy the fish recipe? We used to get this and then the recipes changed slightly when they brought it back and my girl wasn’t as keen. I’m looking for a very low fat fresh fish food for my boy and considering this again.

Hi, So because there is nothing added like rice or sweet potato, the main core ingredient is the meat, no other added ingredient other than the moisture, ie water hence why they can say its 100% meat. Always go by the protein % so with this 31% which is good. eg 99% of complete kibble is on 20% protein. Cold pressed food is higher 30-36%. I always give mine salubrious cold pressed because its 36% protein and is holistic and hypro allergenic. Also keep in mind a diet to rich in protein can cause some dogs digestive issues, like sick or diarrhea.

I've been feeding my border terrier this food for the past 6 months and she loves it, the ingredients list is really impressive & it seems like a high quality dog food... HOWEVER - we have found bits of plastic inside the kibble much like other commenters have mentioned. This has happened with 2 bags now. Sometimes it's small bits of polythene (almost like small shreds of a carrier bag) and other times it's hard shards/splinters of plastic. They seem to always be small pieces, which become merged into the kibble so I suspect my dog will just pass these, but I'm now starting to look at alternatives as I don't think plastic-filled food is great long term!

The issue is lots of people that seek out insect kibel for dogs have am issue with feeding over sources like fish, due to ideolgy and that just isnt healthy

Thats why, its not just insect, its got other core amino acids (Eggs and fish) This isnt the case for the darf insect kibel. Insect can be a cheap diversified amino acid mix great pared with other sources, but on its own it lacks nutrient density.

I moved my miniature dachshund over from Canagan kibble to Different Dog recently because he has been having allergies which I thought were environmental for so long and thought we would give it a try to see if it improves his skin (his chest and bum was bald and his ear tips were crusty). DD worked out he needs 65g per meal (which I have now reduced to 60g but I think that’s normal to have to play with quantity esp with a smaller dog where you see weight gain so much quicker). Anyway he loves it, and his coat is the best it’s ever been. He is shiny, isn’t bald anymore and no crusty tips to his ears! I’m a little shocked how good he looks to be honest - because I thought it was environmental allergies! The only thing I’m not keen on is finding space in my freezer for the food

My dog has started being very itchy, watery eyes, loosing hair, and irritated skin, generally miserable, so has begun anti allergy injections, so we have now begun changing his food, and removing fresh chicken from his diet, just generally giving him more nutrients in his diet , salmon oil, bone broth, tho I don't expect his need for anti allergy injections, will stop till we can get his diet more healthy, james well beloved was empty of anything nutritional,

Hi there

I'm so sorry you've had such a poor experience!

We're continually developing the website and we're releasing improvements pretty much every week - but you should always be able to remove any items. Re: clarity on a subscription being reactivated that's definitely a known issue and we have an new version going live soon! The website shoudl never skip a shipment though - that's a two-step process requiring a confirmation, so I'm not suer what happened.

Sorry to hear you've had an issue with your Stay Fresh lids too! I assure you they have been designed to fit perfectly to each tray but there IS a specific technique that's required to get an airtight seal, we have a handy tutorial video that I can send you!

Could you please get back in touch and ask to speak to Geoff so I can get thing sorted for you - I'd love to tray and make amends for your poor experience!

Geoff

Hi Karen, thanks for your message — more than happy to help here!

The only shared ingredient between the two appears to be carrot, which is commonly found in many dog foods due to its numerous benefits, including vitamin A and beta-carotene, which promote healthy skin, vision, and a shiny coat.

Marleybones meals, however, include a wide array of superfoods such as quinoa, chia seeds, linseeds, hemp seeds, chicory root, and yucca — all carefully selected for their nutritional benefits to support your dog’s overall wellbeing. We also include beneficial herbs like sage, rosemary, and parsley for added health support and flavour.

We currently offer four delicious flavours — chicken, lamb, beef, and salmon — to provide variety and balanced nutrition in every meal.

If you're curious to dive deeper into ingredient comparisons, the AADF comparison tool is a great resource for seeing differences between products side by side. And of course, if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out — we’re always happy to help! Warm wishes, Mikala (co-founder)
