Mixing bowl composition
This is the ingredients list as printed on the packaging or manufacturer's website.
Think of the 'mixing bowl' composition like a recipe - all the ingredients you would need to put in a 'mixing bowl' in order to make the food.
Ingredients have to be listed in descending order of their weight so the higher it appears, the more there is.
Highlighted ingredients
Ingredients that we believe to be controversial or inferior are highlighted in yellow with particularly low grade, highly contentious or excessively vague ingredients in red.
As fed composition
While the 'mixing bowl' composition is useful for knowing what went into the food, it doesn't always reflect what your dog is actually eating. This is because the processes that turn the ingredients into the finished pet food can significantly alter the relative weights of the ingredients.
For this reason we've calculated the approximate 'as fed' percentages for the main ingredient categories in the finished product.
Please note that these figures are very approximate. They are estimates based on the information provided by the manufacturer in the ingredients list so the clearer the terminology and the more percentages they provide, the more accurate our estimates will be. Wherever information is lacking, we always assume the worst.
Ingredient categories
◉ Meat ingredients: includes all meat and fish ingredients except isolated fats/oils.
◉Added oils and fats: includes all isolated oil and fat ingredients.
◉ Carb-rich ingredients: includes all ingredients derived from grains, pseudo-grains, potatoes and other starchy root vegetables, sweet potato and legumes (except whole peas which are categorised under fruit and veg) except for isolated protein and extracted oils. Also includes fibre supplements.
◉ Fruit and veg: includes all whole vegetables and fruits.
◉ Other: all other ingredients. Mostly made up by nutritional supplements and additives.
For more information on any ingredient, please take a look at our Dog Food Ingredient Glossary
The dry matter level of a nutrient is the percentage there would be in the food if all of the water was removed.
With water taken out of the equation, these figures allow the nutrient levels of foods of different types (like wet and dry) to be compared on an even playing field.

Our unique product ratings are calculated based on a number of characteristics including the quality and quantity of the stated ingredients, certain nutritional and technological additives and the processing methods used to create the food. They are designed to indicate how beneficial we think a food is likely to be for the majority of dogs when fed on a daily basis for an extended period. Click here for more information
Country of origin:United Kingdom
A technological additive is any substance added to a pet food "for a technological purpose and which favourably affects the characteristics of feed".
The most common categories of technological additives include preservatives and antioxidants, gelling agents and thickeners and probiotics.
While the primary effects of technoloical additives are certainly 'favourable' (increased shelf life in the case of preservatives & antioxidants, better food texture and consistency in the case of gelling agents and thickeners etc.) some have been linked to health problems in pets and should be treated with caution.
Unfortunately, many technological additives do not have to be declared by the manufacturer so just because they do not appear on the label does not necessarily mean they are not in the food. If in doubt, ask the manufacturer directly exactly what technological additives their foods contain.

I had my dogs on this for a few orders, mainly my GSD puppy as it is all life stages. Made his poop very runny and smelly, as well as him having terrible gas. Gave some to my older one as he was jealous of the new smell (it is really smelly) but it exasperated his acid reflux to the point he was just randomly dribbling it out his mouth after eating it. It’s a shame as it has a high rating and the customer service is great. I put both mine on Alpha Spirit and now no gas, runny poops or reflux issues.WILD Pet Food

Hey! It's such a shame that WILD didn’t suit your two — every dog’s different, and some just need a bit more time to adjust. Runny stools or gas are usually down to a bit of overfeeding during the transition, so smaller portions and taking things slow can really help settle their tummies. If you ever fancy giving it another go, just pop us an email at contact@wildpetfood.co.uk — we’d love to support you and your pups!Buuurns2k •16 days ago

We’ve just replied to your review on Trustpilot with more details, but just to mention it here too—adding a little water can help soften the food for bigger dogs. We can’t share links here, but if you check our Trustpilot reply, you’ll find a video showing how. We totally get that a larger kibble size would be better for some dogs, and it’s something we’re looking into. We’re also working hard to improve delivery times and really appreciate your patience. Thanks again for your support—it means a lot!So •18 days ago

UPDATE: The owner of the compagny contacted me directly to make things right and apologised , he has been comprehensive about the issue and I hope things will be better in the future , for now , it is not a scam but probably a young compagny who has been busy to fast maybe , so I hope they will have better communication in the future .WILD Pet Food

That’s so lovely to hear! We’re so glad your Princess is enjoying her food. Cold-pressed is a great option, and we love hearing how it’s working for you. Thanks for sharing and for choosing WILD!LuceHea24 •3 months ago
My two love this food! There honestly must be some magic in there because they've genuinely never been so excited for meal times. Their energy seems consistent throughout the day, the bags last way longer than I thought they would because you don't need to feed anywhere as much as other food types so it's cost effective too! I put my Cane Corso on the Surf and Turf flavour and he really didn’t get on with it. I weaned him off raw over a period of 10 days and he still didn’t get on with it, tried it for over a month and he stools where still very runny and in consistent. Fed him the correct amount each day, tried to adjust the amount, tried it with bone broth and nothing worked. It’s a shame because this is the highest rated dry food on AllaboutdogfoodJC1272

10 days to go from raw to this is not enough time. Your dog is used to a diet totally at the other end of the spectrum. Did you contact them for advice? When we switched they were very helpful and told me to add water and extend the transition period. You have to think - its nothing to do with it not getting on with your dog - you just have to give your dog time - much like if you suddenly went to a totally different diet. 10 days sounds like a lot but its not - try a month switch and add water to the WILD but message them you can even speak direct to the founder and he will helpHugoandAlf

Love this food (well my little babies love it), I have always tried to feed my dogs the best I can and have to say this is by far the best I have come across, they wolf it down and I have noticed an improvement in skin, fur and stools. I am lucky my 2 seem to tolerate a change in food with no problems but I do know from experience that every dog (like humans) react differently. If you have had problems I would definitely look at introducing it again at a slower pace as the difference once fully transitioned is amazingWILD Pet Food

This is fantastic to hear—thank you for sharing! We love that your little ones are thriving on WILD and that you’ve noticed improvements in their skin, fur, and digestion. You’re absolutely right—every dog is different, and a slower transition can make all the difference. We really appreciate your support and for spreading the word about the benefits of a tailored transition. Give your two a belly rub from us!WILD Pet Food

We’re really sorry to hear that your Cane Corso didn’t get on with WILD. Every dog is different, and we know that transitions from raw can sometimes take longer. We’ve updated our transition plan on our website to better suit different previous diets, which might help if you ever want to give a transition another go. If you’d like to check it out, you can find the full transition guide on our website under "Information About Our Food". We really appreciate you giving us a try and for your kind words about our rating on All About Dog Food!Kevlar •3 months ago
This is expensive in comparison to darf?RawFeederXL
Kevlar
•one month ago
Considerably more expensive, but its also got a MUCH higher meat content than darf (Nearly 30%) counting the fact darf uses "Fresh meat" which reduces its actual ratio 50% in darf if fruit and veg its also not in the UK, DARF do a 20KG of their chicken based foods (With organ meats) for 70£.. and sure wilds working dog optoin is decent but its still 130£ bit whats great, is that is fish, a more expensive and tolerable meat. TLDR: Yes but wilds has its upsides that do and can justify this price, i am sticking with darf but the pricing here is reasonableloulou

While both our products and DARF are cold-pressed, there are key differences in formulation, sourcing, and nutritional balance. RawFeederXL has already highlighted how fresh meat affects the final product, which will contribute to their lower price point. While DARF includes fresh meats, offal, dried fruits, millet, and krill, we focus on high-quality, UK sourced meat with no grains, peas, or legumes - just completely natural nutrition. Plus, all of our recipes are 100% sourced and made in the UK, supporting local suppliers and ensuring the highest standards of production. Another key factor is feeding amounts - our food is very nutrient-dense, meaning you often need to feed less compared to other brands. While the upfront cost may be higher, this can make our recipes more cost-effective in the long run. If you'd like more details, we're always happy to chat!SMG •3 months ago

Great question! Our Fish 80:20 recipe uses whole blue whiting, which is a novel protein and naturally rich in omega-3s, which help reduce inflammation. It’s also moderate in fat (14%), highly digestible, and free from grains, legumes, and artificial additives. That said, every dog is different, so we recommend checking with your vet first. If you do try WILD, a slow transition (4 weeks or more) is key.
