We have fed our 5 year old French Bulldog Autarky food for about 3/4 years with no problems. I bought an 2 18kg packs from Costco and about 4 weeks ago and she started with large sloppy bowel movements and quickly developed an abscess in one anal gland, this has never happened before. It also cost £200 at the vet to rectify. Initially I thought the blocked gland was causing the toilet issues and the antibiotics prescribed. I mentioned this to our vet and he said it should settle in a few days if it’s the antibiotics. I thought I’d give it longer to settle. We are now 2 weeks after the end of medication and she still has large frequent sloppy bowel movements and occasionally being sick. She also appears hungry all the time, she wasn’t before. The only explanation can be a change in the dog food. I now have a full bag and a half of Autarky dry food that we can’t give to her. It all becomes very clear after reading the reviews on here. Autarky should be making a recall and refunding everyone involved asap!

Be warned - I have previously fed Autarky grain free White Fish for some time to our 10 working gundogs with no problem. Suddenly with a new batch their condition has gone down rapidly, and they are having enormous poos. On complaining to the manufacturer, they tell me they have changed the recipe and the factory has changed hands - they have gone to different suppliers, and added certain ingredients. No warning except for a small new logo on the bag. My dogs are in a state - waking up at night wanting to go out, and poo-ing for England! Autarky customer service have refused to pick up and refund my 10 surplus bags that I definitely will never feed. They suggest that I drive 40 mins each way to my supplier to get compensation . They have failed in their duty of comprehensively informing customers of a sudden change. I am warning everyone of the problems, and to beware of extremely poor customer service.

I've fed my Cockapoo Autarky chicken and rice since he was about a year old,he's going to be 12 next February. He's super fit,and full of bounce with a lovely coat. Poos firm and not really smelly. His weight is stable at 8.5 kg. I may change to senior at some point but no reason to yet. Suits us so see no reason to change brands.

Absolutely horrendous food. I foolishly gave this a go after seeing it in Costco. I should have realised how bad the quality was given it was less than £20 a bag. It looks better than it is due to it’s fancy packaging, but have a look at the ingredients? How many carbs!! My poor dogs have had nothing but large slippery poops and the farts since they’ve been given this rubbish. Straight in the bin, I wouldn’t even give to a dogs home it’s that bad!
